NMA Eddieville GP

This weekend was the eddieville NMA GP, held on sunday Mar 18th. Sara and I drove over friday evening pulling into the pits about 1am, which sucked getting there so late but we sort of snuck in and avoided paying $20 in gate fees :-)

saturday we did the team race, which wasn't very pleasant until the last lap because they over-watered the entire course making it like butter on glass. I went down twice on my first lap on the grease, which pissed me off, then came into the whoop section way too hot and went down again! needless to say I did not have a very good race, but at least the last lap or so was ok.

sunday I was not too excited about the race. my bad luck on saturday and bike hasn't been performing the greatest, or more so having rode sara's bike I am not happy with my bikes handling! anyway, I started off the race kind of crappy, got a decent start but got passed by several people. then my axle nut came loose about my 2nd lap and I had to pull over and run to the pits for a wrench to tighten the nut.

something clicked shortly after that and I started riding better and having a good time. I passed some people back and finished 8th out of 24, not the greatest finish but considering I lost several positions having to fix my axle nut and not riding the best first few laps I am not disappointed with my result. And I felt I was riding pretty good, seemed like the longer we went the better my riding became, so I finished happy!

I have a full race report on my reports.dirtbikejunkieracing.com blog

cool new music service

slacker.com

the radio service is free

I think this one will get big. Today is the initial beta release and fairly basic, but the guys developing are the the guys that came up with musicmatch (bought by yahoo), winamp, etc. and have some cool shit planned

personally, I hate managing mp3s, copying them back and forth etc. I have yahoo music service subscription, which lets me play music on demand from any computer, but requires an application install and still stuck transferring mp3s to my mp3 player if I want to play music at the gym/car.

is what intrigues me about slacker is like yahoo music and others they plan to provide a premium service to get music on demand, but taking it a step further and making it available via wifi and satellite radio. no more copying mp3s back and forth to play my music in the gym/car/etc. pretty much have access to my music anywhere, awesome!

I read somewhere their premium service is going to be less than $10 a month, that's pretty good IMO to have unlimited access to music from anywhere (of course you'd have to buy the portable player too, but supposedly they are going to start at $200 for 4GB version).

mattawa first ride

We had planned to ride belfair but our guide tom bailed because of the massive rain overnight. So we decided to try mattawa. Hopefully third time is a charm as last two mattawa rides sucked
